We finally realised that being able to turn corners in the wet was a useful thing for a vehicle to be able to do, to we decided to get some new tyres. Tyres of the size (9.00x16) are difficult to get in any tread other than the bar grips that the army use. We are sure that these tyres are great for battlefields, but they are not very good on the road. Michelin do some in the size - but at Michelin prices! Finally, John Craddock started to sell the equivalent metric size in their own brand of Wildcat. Their service was excellent, delivering the tyres promptly to Stoneacre for fitting. They are 315/75 R 16 Durango AT tyres, which look the part! Not only that, they perform really well. The Bitch now goes round corners in the wet (before, she would simply go straight on) and the ride is better too. On the road, it's much quieter and there's less vibration. We'll let you know what they're like off road - but they certainly look pretty aggressive.
