Series 3 Land

of years ago, Lois got fed up with ordinary cars, and she
got herself an old Land Rover - 1977 to be precise: For those 'in the know', it's a Series 3, SWB. When we bought it, it was diesel but we've since put in a petrol engine. It has a galvanised chassis, cloth seats and a GRP headlining. It has free wheeling front hubs and overdrive, and we've fitted Parabolic Springs and gas filled shock absorbers (click here for more info). Handling the 4 (yes, four) gear levers and the 20 gears is becoming easier. She uses it every day in winter (when it's not motorcycling weather) to get to work, and the old problems of being cut up on roundabouts that she had in her Peugeot 205 have gone away!
